Jehovah has created Israel to be his servant.
Zion has been unfaithful. Jehovah pronounces judgment on the wicked. He will remove her dross, and call righteous rulers. Zion will be called 'the City of Righteousness, a faithful city.'
Zion receives the inheritance of Jehovah.
Israel is smitten because of iniquity. Her iniquities are likened to a spiritual disease. Due to these iniquities, Israel is made desolate and her land is given over to invaders. Only a few survivors remain - these survivors will be obedient to the Lord.
In the Lord's day mighty cities will be destroyed and abandoned. The remnant of Jehovah's people who are left will have regard to Him alone.
Judah is unfaithful to her covenants. For his name's sake Jehovah shows restraint. He reveals new things that will occur at the last day. Those who have heard this vision are rebuked for not proclaiming it.
The Zoramites pervert the ways of the Lord and dissent from the Nephites. Alma takes his brethren and sons to preach the word of God. The virtue of the word of God had had more powerful effect upon the minds of the people than the sword, or anything else which had happened unto them.
Christ teaches the Nephites his gospel. He came into the world to do the will of his Father. Mankind must repent and be baptized. Those who are faithful unto the end will stand spotless before him at the last day.
At the second coming Christ will judge between the righteous and the the wicked. The righteous keep Christ's ordinances and contribute their tithes and offerings.
During the day of Jehovah the wicked will be burned. The righteous of Israel will be healed. Elijah will be sent to prepare Israel for the day of Jehovah.
During the day of Jehovah watchmen will raise a cry, calling Israel to gather to Zion. The Lord will redeem the remnant of Israel, gathering them from across the world.
Jehovah brings a lawsuit against his covenant people. He charges them with insincere, hypocritical worship. He declares that if they will not keep his commandments by doing good, executing justice, and caring for the fatherless and the widow then they will be destroyed.
Secret combinations seek to gain power and to murder. They cause the destruction of every nation that upholds them. These secret oaths and combinations have existed from the beginning. In the latter days they will seek to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries.
The Lord calls Jeremiah to be a prophet to the nations. Jeremiah is shown two visions which predict destruction breaking out from the north upon all the land. The Lord promises to make Jeremiah sufficient to his prophetic mission.
Christ commands us to search the words of Isaiah. His words and the words of Isaiah will go to the Gentiles, who will also be his covenant people if they will hearken to his words.
Nephi is a model for the kings of the Gentiles; Jacob desires the welfare of his people, and reads the words of Isaiah to teach those things which are to come.
Jehovah calls out to His people Israel who have been redeemed as they forsake Babylon. As they leave Babylon from across the world and gather together, Jehovah promises to be with them and preserve them. He gives them His name and remakes them in His image.
Nephi likens the words of Isaiah unto all men. They are a third witness (along with Nephi and Jacob) of the coming of Jesus Christ, the covenants of the Lord, and the great and eternal plan of deliverance from death.
Moroni prophesies of the coming forth of the Book of Mormon. At that day great and marvelous things must shortly come to pass, to fulfill the Lord's covenant with the house of Israel. To understand the Lord's promises to His people, we should search the words of Isaiah.
Jehovah created the heavens and the earth. He does not speak in secret.
